Constellation Park

This is what's called getting tangled up with the bull, and this generally happens when the rider is under the bull, which is an awful place to be.

This often happens when the bull riders unable to get his hand out of the bull rope quick enough so there's a tendency to swing under the bull when he falls off....the bullrider is tied to the bull with a knot called a suicide wrap, and it's called that for a reason.

Being priced out of staying at the Pima County Fairgrounds has me looking for a place that can substitute for the unique situation that the Fairgrounds offered, which was the ability to boondock an easy walk to various events that interested me, mostly horse events.

Thinking back on my travels, one place that had the potential to fill that newly found void in my life was Wickenburg, Arizona, specifically a place called Constellation Park.

Constellation Park is run by either the city or the county, I'm not sure which, but there's a rodeo arena at the park, where I once watched a rodeo, and across the street from the rodeo arena is a boondocking area where I have stayed once or twice in the past. And so far, that's the only place in my memory that stands a chance of replacing the Pima County Fairgrounds.

The biggest problem was Constellation Park's boondocking area, is it's rather small, with little room for many campers, and since it's a popular place, it's frequently full of RVs. It's not free. The last time I was there, it cost about eight dollars per night to boondock so that the cost wouldn't be a problem, but since it's first come, first serve, getting a spot is tricky and involves a lot of luck. If you look at the places I normally boondock, you can tell I don't like depending on "luck" to find a place to stay.

So I need to get to Wickenburg one of these days to check out the Constellation Park situation firsthand, especially since it's been several years since I've been to the park.

The bullfighters do everything they can to separate the bull from the rider but they can't MAKE the bull do anything, all they can do is try to distract the bull and make him pay attention to the bullfighters instead of the rider on the ground, and make the bull want to get the bullfighters instead of the rider.

In this case the rider got stepped on and had to be helped from the arena, but he's okay. At every rodeo there's an ambulance and EMTs standing by.

That's just the way it is for rough stock riders, especially bull riders, they know there going to get tossed off, they just don't know when, but whenever it is they know it's gonna hurt.
