I got to thinking about what I'd said in the last paragraph of my blog yesterday about how the government recommending masking up again could lead to more confusion, more apprehension, and a lot more uncertainty. Which caused me to give some thought to what I would like to do during my winter travels and what would be the best RV to be living in this winter.

Since I don't know what's going to be happening, there will have to be a lot of guessing on my part. So I would say that if what I said is true about the confusion, apprehension, and uncertainty this winter, I will feel better if I'm traveling in the little Bronco camper this winter.... why is that?

The reason is mobility. Boondocking in the little Bronco will give me more places to boondock, and I can get to those places quicker and easier. And if I'm not having fun traveling in the little Bronco, or, heaven forbid, some Bat flu health problem should befall me, it will also be much quicker and easier to get back to Denver, possibly through the snow, in the little Bronco than towing the Arctic Fox. I don't know if y'all have ever towed a 30-foot trailer down a snow-packed road, but I have, and I can assure you it will definitely focus your attention.

So I think that these new government mandates about the Bat flu, at least for now, are causing me to lean even more towards traveling in the little Bronco this winter. But, of course, things could easily change between now and when I would expect to leave Denver, which would probably be sometime in October, so it's still a little early to make up my mind about which RV I'm going to take this winter.

But I can't wait till the last minute because there's a lot to do, both to the little Bronco and the Arctic Fox, to make sure the Arctic Fox isn't damaged by the extremely cold winter weather here in Denver. And to move everything I need into the little Bronco.

So taking that into consideration, and not knowing exactly when I will leave Denver, I'm going to bend my "not making artificial deadline rules" and say that I need to make a decision about whether or not to use the little Bronco for my winter travels at least by the middle of September.

I am afraid NM is going to shut down again. Even here in Decatur Alabama businesses are starting to tighten things a bit mask wise.

Yeah, if we learned anything from this last Bat flu shut down, we learned New Mexico will shut everything down and stay that way. I don't know if this latest variant will cause shutdowns again, but out of an abundance of caution, I won't depend too heavily on New Mexico as a place to stay without a plan "B".

But Arizona was okay, they didn't go overboard with the closures. And I believe Texas didn't shut down everything for a long period of time.

But with so many people being vaccinated I can't believe the various governments will make closures as bad as it was before. But I am more than a little concerned about being near the Arizona or Texas border with all the illegal aliens running around that may or may not be infected.

I had forgotten about the border aliens. That could be a major problem, especially in NM around Deming. I think my current preliminary plans need more consideration, again.

It's pretty hard to make plans when everything you knew no longer works. Which is one of the reasons I'm leaning heavily towards taking the little Bronco with me this winter. I think being able to go where the little Bronco will go, and do what the little Bronco will do, will give me a lot more choices to be able to deal with whatever comes my way.

I'm sure Ajo won't be on my itinerary this winter, which is a shame, but it's just too far out in the middle of nowhere, and to near the border for me to feel safe being there.

I think most of the other places I go will be okay, but losing New Mexico would be a big loss. I've come to depend on that nonresident annual State Park pass a lot. I'm just hoping that the local businesses around the state parks will scream bloody murder, if New Mexico's Governor tries to shut things down again like she did last time.

Hey. In Texas, you don't need to worry about illegal aliens being unvaccinated. Only 44% of the population has had it. So your chances are over 50% of being around someone who hasn't had it..One out of every 2 at least won't have it.
And Texas has opened everything that wasn't semi-closed before.
Free for all, go get it. I live here, Don't tread on me and all that crap.

I try not to tread on anybody if I can help it, and I even remember the Alamo.

Other places like Israel, and England have far greater percentages of people vaccinated but they've still having problems. It seems to me that different states have tried everything from locking down completely to almost paying no attention that the Bat flu is even going on. And the same thing with different countries, and yet it appears to have little or no effect, some people are still getting sick no matter what they do.

But the good news is the vaccines are working, and folks, particularly in my age group, are getting far less sick, and very few are dying.

So I'm figuring that since I've had both shots, I have no underlying health problems, I'm not overweight, I've been taking vitamin D for probably 20 years, and I tend to stay away from crowds, I believe I've got a pretty good chance of making it through yet another pandemic attack, particularly this winter where I will be boondocking under a Saguaro somewhere by myself. So I'm not gonna worry about it like I did last year. I'm going to enjoy my life, every day of it, for as long as I can.

Good. Yes. You've got the vax. I was just responding to your illegal alien thing. I have friends who live on the border, and I have friends who live in Mexico. I get prickly about it.
So I am glad you're not really worrying about the virus and illegals. Anyway, I'm making a resolution to not write so much on other people's blogs. Ha. We'll see how that goes.

I don't see a problem with writing too much on other people's blogs, the comments section on blogs can be turned on or off depending on whether we want them or not, so if we didn't want people to write we wouldn't open up the blog for comments.

Sometimes I use other people's comments to write a blog post answering or responding to their questions, other times their comments give me ideas on something to write about. And having people comment is the only way I can tell for sure there's actually somebody out there.... But either way I always find folks comments interesting.
