Dateland Arizona

Clicking the pics puts a spring in your step, and a wiggle in your walk.

the RV park in Dateland, with full hookups, and a close by dumpster just like real RVers have all the time. But here I don't have to deal with crowds so I don't mind staying around for a night or two. And there's always the Date Milkshakes that are fresh made in their ice cream shop to help me drown whatever sorrows I may come up with.

When I woke up this morning, the previously blurry picture of where I should go and what I should do about the holidays was suddenly clear, and I could see myself in Ajo, Arizona, for Christmas. That's the way it works for me sometimes, I go to bed completely perplexed about what to do or where to go, and I wake up with an answer that's clear as a bell and sounds exactly right to me. Maybe there's more to the old saying "I'll sleep on it," about making decisions than I had realized.

On my way to Ajo, I figured I would stop at Dateland, Arizona, and spend a night or two at the RV Park there, dump my tanks, and take on some water so I won't have to worry about any of that during the holidays. The water here in Dateland definitely doesn't taste like Colorado Mountain water, but it doesn't taste as bad as Quartzsite water. Usually, what I will do in the desert areas where the water is never that great, is buy bottled water to drink and use water in the tank for everything else.

Yes, I could put a high-quality water filter under my sink, which I did in my last fifth wheel, but the filters were so expensive that often as not, I ended up just buying bottled or the twenty-five cents a gallon filtered water to drink. But I've consumed all kinds of water in my travels, from the slightly salty water of Quartzsite to the infamous "sulfur water" in Georgia, and so far, none of it has killed me.

Look who I found cruising through the campground, yes it's none other than the Roadrunner himself. These are some of my favorite birds, and I can't look at one without seeing Wiley Coyote creeping and lurking in a nearby bush.
