the marina near the dam. It's called, appropriately enough, the dam site marina
This morning I drove over to the elephant Butte Dam and took some pictures. I had never been there before but there's actually more boondocking and another marina near the dam. It's Mountainous and scenic around the area of the dam, and there's a boondocking area right on the Rio Grande but I'm not sure who controls it because some of that area over there is Federal land.
I spent some time doing a small project on my truck. When the truck was new I built a box to fit in the front of the bed for storage and to hide my 18 gallon spare fuel tank. The box worked great for all these years, and even though it took up a couple feet of bed space, I could live with that loss easier than living without the box. But lately the lid of the box started given me some problems so I put two more hinges on the box to help keep the lid straight. It was an easy project, but could've been easier if my fifth wheel hitch wasn't in the way.
The weather now has been pretty consistent lately. 50s at night, 80s in the daytime, and wind blowing in the afternoon. That's pretty much it everyday.
Even without a calendar I would be able to tell that tomorrow is Friday, Because tomorrow after lunch there will be a steady stream of campers pouring into the park. They will bring their dogs and their cats, although it's hard to tell if they have any cats because they don't make any noise. But most of all they will bring their music. I don't pay much attention anymore to what the "hit songs" of the day are, but by Friday afternoon I will have heard every one of them, usually all at the same time.
This is the box in the bed of my truck that I put two more hinges on today
