Desert boondocking.

Since it's the weekend more people have moved into my part of the Box Wash boondocking area so there's now five of us here and it looks like all the boondocking spots down the dirt road are full. So it appears I will have to make a mental note to myself to always arrive here on a weekday to be assured of finding a boondocking spot.

As I've mentioned before Box Wash is slated to become an Arizona state Park someday and apparently all the paperwork is done and it's just a matter of finding the funds to start the project. Of course that's always been the problem of the government accomplishing anything. From what I understand the BLM gave this land to the state of Arizona because they didn't have the money to deal with the place, too few Park Rangers spread to thin.

So now the state of Arizona doesn't have the money to do anything with it either which is great as far as I'm concerned since they will just turn it into a place only a few people can afford to stay or visit. And instead of being a place of natural beauty like it is now the State will turn it into an expensive Park that's treated like a Museum. And the visitors that come here will be treated like annoying cash cows that are constantly breaking the dozens of rules  the State has put on the public's land that prevents the public from using the land without paying money and following all the new rules .... To quote Joni Mitchell once again..... "They took all the trees and put um in a tree Museum, and they charge the people a dollar and 1/2 just to see um".

I just saw on the Internet today that someone from the CDC is recommending that people over the age of 60, or with compromising health problems, avoid being around crowds. Apparently basing that on the fact that us older folks are at the highest risk for serious complications from Coronavirus. I feel very fortunate that as a full-timer and especially a boondocker my ability to avoid crowds is a lot easier than for most folks, after all my whole full timing life is built around avoiding crowds..... Looks like I need a boondocking spot somewhere near a Walmart so I can shop at 2 o'clock in the morning when I'll be the only one in the store.

If you look carefully enough you can find a little bit of good in even the worst situation, and in this case it looks like I have a perfectly legitimate excuse for not showing up in Denver for jury duty in late May.
