And now for something completely different.... This is how I store my Rhino sewer hoses. My hollow rear bumper is no longer available because of my motorcycle rack so I had to find another way to store the hoses and this is a better way. It's more convenient and it doesn't wear holes in the hose from bouncing around inside the rusty metal bumper. The containers are standard 5 x 5 x 8 feet long vinyl fence posts, and fence post caps for each end. I used threaded rod to hold the fence posts in place, and a little thumbscrew in a pre drilled hole to keep the cap from falling off. There's other ways of holding them up there but these are the parts that I had handy, This is more convenient because the fence posts are right next to my dump outlet and it enables me to carry a short hose that I use most of the time and a long hose that I need every once in a while. The posts came from either Home Depot or Lowe's but they're not available in all areas.... And you can thank the Colorado road crews for the tar all over everything..... https://www.homedepot.com/p/Veranda-5-in-x-5-in-x-8-ft-White-Vinyl-Fence-Post-73010700/202084745

That is a very good idea for the hose home.

I made the black hose home [that's a good name by the way] a long time ago and it worked great for the long Rhino hose and I had a short hose in the bumper. But after my motorcycle rack blocked up my rear bumper I had to quickly find another place for my short Rhino hose and I couldn't just throw it under the bed like I do everything else I don't know what to do with.

I would say put the hose you use the most in the fence post and mount it close to your sewer discharge, you'll find that really handy when you're using it.

I hope you don't have any trouble finding the fence posts. Like I mentioned before, in some areas of the country there very popular and your big box store will carry all of the parts to make a fence. In other areas they've never heard of them.

I checked Home Depot on-line and they don't have them in stock at the local stores (but you can order them and have them delivered to the store for free), but Lowe's carries them. I'm going to stop by there soon and see if they are the ones without holes; they are called "blanks", so sounds like there is a good chance that they don't have the holes.

The main reason I used the 5 inch fence post is that I happened to be standing in that part of the Home Depot when the idea hit me, I saw the fence posts and thought they would work.

Thanks Tom - sounds like the fence post is the way to go. We're getting snow today, so until the weather clears up, I won't be attempting to go to Lowe's or Home Deport.

The extension I added to my sewer hose worked out better than I thought. The big one I put on first wouldn't fit in some dump sites, but I was afraid the smaller one wouldn't be big enough, but it turned out to be just fine. You can't make it too long though because some dump sites make a 45 or a 90° turn just below the ground and a longer one might not go in all the way. I've never had this one pop out of the ground, or even try. It's made the whole dumping thing a whole lot simpler and quicker.
