There was a nice sunset last night because some clouds rolled in just at the right time to make it look good. Unfortunately those clouds were a hint of things to come the next day

I got everything done that I needed to do at Chatfield state Park and got back home about 11 o'clock this morning.

It's been cloudy and rainy all day, which is okay for now, but it won't be long and that rain will be turning to snow in the Denver area but hopefully not before I can make an unhurried exit the middle of this month.

I ended up not buying a Colorado state Park annual pass like I'd planned on doing before I left Chatfield state Park this morning, just because I couldn't think of a reason why I would stay at a Colorado state Park on my way out of town in two more weeks. Since I don't plan on being back in Colorado till next Spring it made more sense to just buy one then.

It's looking more and more like I will be heading for Texas when I leave Colorado. I haven't made up my mind completely because making up my mind limits my future options and for me limiting options is not a good way to be free. But anyway, I haven't been to Texas for a while, I need to get out of the rut I'm in, and I think a week or so on the Texas Gulf Coast, depending on the weather, is just the new view that I need. And even if the weathers bad it will make me appreciate all the more being in Arizona next winter, it's a win-win.

The handful of clouds from last night turned into this by the time I woke up this morning. gloomy, misty, and foggy, I stuck my camera out the door, took this picture, and went back to bed.

This is the main entrance to Chatfield state Park. There's nothing special about it except to get into the park from this area you have to go under that cover which has a 13 foot clearance warning sign on it. The Arctic Fox is 12'7" so that cover always gives me the willies when I go under it. There's another way to get into the park that doesn't have a cover but it's quite a bit farther down the road than this entrance is for me. I guess this entrance was built before RVs became ginormous.
