How is the situation at our southern border benefiting the average American citizen ?

I need to talk to my accountant in Colorado Springs Monday morning. Since I'm carrying the bronco around everywhere I go anyway; I'm thinking I might head for the hills and spend a night or two sleeping in the bronco and see how my backseat storage project handles some bumpy dirt roads. But I'm not sure yet. I want to go, but as I've mentioned before, it takes just as much time and effort to get the bronco ready to spend one night in as it does to spend a week, so not sure if I want to deal with it or not.


So today, I mostly took it easy, and about the only thing I accomplished was fixing a leaky pipe under the sink in the bronco. Once I got the water pump working and pressurized the system, I found a tiny leak near the water tank, and all I had to do was tighten up the fitting to stop that leak. But I had a worse leak under the kitchen sink, and I had to buy a new supply line to fix it.

Since all of these illegal aliens are pouring into the country in certain locations, I've been asked why not boondock at the border areas in New Mexico and Arizona, where they don't have thousands of people a day crossing the border?

And the reason is... The illegals crossing the border don't scare me all that much, because more than likely, they're only dangerous if they're desperate. The Mexican Coyotes tell the illegals where they have to cross, And It's where the illegals aren't crossing is where the Mexican cartels bring in their drugs. Because most of the border patrol agents are where the illegals are crossing, which means there's fewer border patrol personnel to keep an eye on the drug smuggling routes in all the other border states.

Now, this makes perfect sense to anyone who spends time near the border. Still, our politicians, brilliant and wise though they may be, can't seem to grasp that the drug cartels have controlled the southern border for many decades. They're able to make the border patrol agents run in circles chasing border jumpers while the drugs are pouring in 100 miles away, which is why only a wall will work. There's waaaay too few border patrol officers to be everywhere at once. And this is why certain politicians are fighting tooth and nail to prevent a wall from ever being built... They know It works. But that's not the future some politicians see for America.

To access my leaking supply line I had to remove the 12 volt fuse panel, that's the hole on the left. And I had to remove the 12 volt converter which is the gray box on the right, so I could get both hands under the sink. The 12 volt converter is the mysterious gadget that magically changes your 110 AC power that you get when you're plugged in at an RV Park into 12 volt DC so you don't have to run on batteries while you're plugged in. And the 12 volt converter usually has a built-in battery charger.

The metallic silver supply line in the middle of the picture is the new shiny one that I just put in. Anyone who does their own RV maintenance will confirm that there is very little space to work when you start digging into the wet bits of an RV. I almost had to stand on my head to get my arm to reach under the sink far enough to install the new supply line.

Contrary to what you might think I had absolutely nothing to do with the layout of the water lines or electric wiring under the kitchen sink. That mess of pipes and wires that looks like a bowl of spaghetti, is the way it came from the factory.
