Today was spent mostly getting ready to leave Sunday morning. I went up to Ace Hardware and got my empty propane tank filled up so my propane situation is good to go now. While I was at Ace Hardware I had another key made for the Arctic Fox door. I always make it a point to have three copies of my most important keys, and the trailer door key is right up there at the top of something I don't want to be without.
I normally carry one key on my key ring along with the truck key, the motorcycle key and things like that. Then I hide one key somewhere in a place I can easily get to but no one would ever think to look there for a key, and the third key is put on a big key ring in the Arctic Fox where I keep a copy of all of my spare keys.
The keys on this big key ring are only used when I can't remember where I hid my spare keys. I usually have to crawl through a window to get to the big key ring which I will then take to Ace Hardware and have them make me a new spare key.
When I get back to the trailer I have to think of a place to hide the spare key that's easy to get to but no one would ever think to look their for a key, and when I've thought of the perfect place that's usually where I find the key I had lost earlier.
This method of security has worked so well for me over the years that I now have 15 or 20 copies of all my keys and never have to worry about getting locked out of the Arctic Fox......as long as I remember to leave a window open.
