I can't believe I made up my mind this early

Strangely enough, I actually figured out where I wanted to go on my upcoming mimi, mini-vacation to the mountains. I usually don't decide like that this early in the game, but my needs are few, so many places would work for me. All I'm looking for is relatively close by, good boondocking, and an altitude that's cooler than Denver, which is just about everywhere, and Buena Vista, Colorado, came to mind.

Buena Vista is a pretty place right at the foot of some of the biggest mountains in Colorado, which should make it cool enough to be comfortable for most of the day. The Arkansas River runs right through town, and since the Arkansas is snow-melt coming right out of the mountains, It should also cool things off. There are a few areas just outside of town where boondocking spots are near the Arkansas, so hopefully, even though tourist traffic is in full swing, I'll be able to find a boondocking spot suitable for my needs... Which mostly means plenty of sun for my solar panels. And only a little more than 100 miles away, so it's an easy 2 Hour drive on mostly two-lane blacktop.

If I can find a boondocking spot when I get there, I think it will be a great place to be. The town, which has a grocery store, which is only about 2 miles away from the boondocking areas, But the town should be overflowing with tourists this time of year, which makes finding a boondocking spot kind of iffy. But if it doesn't work out, I can drive over Cottonwood Pass, and in about an hour, I can be in Tincup, Colorado, one of my all-time favorite places.
