I gave myself a treat today

Not many pics today, but your clicking finger will get a real workout after the rodeo tomorrow..... I hope.

Happily, and peacefully ensconced in one of the boondocking areas at the Pima County Fairgrounds.

There's too many trees where I'm currently boondocked, I'm sitting in the middle of a virtual forest of trees, and when you live on sunshine, shade is your worst enemy.

I went to Walmart this morning. My supplies were getting low due to the relatively small amount of storage space in the Lance, but Walmart is only about 3 miles away, so when I'm boondocking at the Pima County Fairgrounds, my lack of storage space isn't a problem. And for a change of pace, there's a large Safeway grocery store another two miles down the road.

After leaving Walmart, I stopped at Popeye's, which is conveniently located in the Walmart parking lot, and bought a large container of red beans and rice for lunch. That's one of my favorite foods, but I don't get it very often, so I consider it a real treat.

And speaking of restaurant food, Chinese buffets are one of my favorite places to eat, but the last time I ate at a buffet was before the whole bat-flu thing started, so I'm wondering if they still have buffets? I guess I should stop at a buffet one of these days and see what's going on.

It was a beautiful day today, 75° and nothing but sunshine; unfortunately, that will change by next Monday. The temperatures are supposed to get down into the low 60s, with an excellent chance of rain for three or four days. And all that cloudy weather will raise the humidity levels, so the 60s will actually feel cold. I don't like that, but on the other hand, I can't help but feel that all this moisture we're getting has to be good for the spring flowers. I don't know, but it certainly can't hurt.

Sunset last night. I don't see a very nice sunset from where I'm at, it's kind of blocked by barns and trees, and to get a clear view I've got to walk about 1/4 of a mile to the rodeo arena, which I'll do in the future but this sunset didn't have enough potential to bother.

You sure are all by yourself at the moment! And with good skies. I can't remember, will the area you're in get crowded?

Most of the time, there are very few people boondocking in this area, and many days I'm alone. Some days there are two or three other campers... BUT, during some of the big events, this area will be packed with horse trailers.

The times when the camping areas are the most crowded at the Pima County fairgrounds are during RV rallies. The Escapees club can have some big rallies here, and the FMCA, the Family Motor Coach Association, can pack this place. I don't know how many campers they can get into the various camping areas here at the fairgrounds, but I guess it would be a thousand or more. Needless to say, I avoid those times like the plague and stay anywhere but here.

And yes, the weather's been beautiful here; I couldn't ask for better. But they're saying that will end next week and we're going to get several days of rain and chillier temperatures... It's the altitude, Tucson doesn't look high but compared to the rest of Arizona, it is.

Friends of mine are still going to Chinese buffets but they are in Florida so who knows what is happening in Tucson.

Yeah, I think Florida was a lot more lenient on folks during the Covid crisis than a lot of other places, so it wouldn't surprise me if Florida wasn't more back to normal than everywhere else.

The nearest Chinese restaurant to me is a Panda Express, and they've always been a modified buffet where you point at the food and somebody else dishes it out to you. I always figured that's what the regular buffets would end up doing in an effort to keep the customer away from the food. But if there's anything a restaurant does not need, nor want, its more employees.

I suppose I'll just have to stop in at a Chinese buffet and see if there's a whole new system I have to get used to.

I love Panda Express! I get the three entree dinner with half rice and half noodles which is enough food to last me three meals. I eat one meal then put the leftovers through the food processor to make a huge cold salad for another two meals.

I like Panda Express to, and there's a lot of them around so there easy to find. But I like the regular Chinese buffets, because I get a little of this and a little of that, and come back for more of the little that I liked.
