I got a General delivery today

I went to the post office in Wickenburg today and picked up my new inverter from General Delivery which made it a happy day indeed. Because even though I've discovered that I don't use the inverter for as many important things as I thought I did, it still makes life a whole lot more convenient when every electrical plug in your house works like there supposed to.


The installation of the inverter was a little bit more difficult than expected. I assumed it would be just like my old inverter only more powerful, but this one was substantially bigger and the connections were a bit different so instead of just hooking up the old wires just like they came off the old inverter I had to do some Imagineering to get the wires that were already in place to reach where they needed to go on the new inverter.

But I managed to get it all hooked up without blowing up the Arctic Fox, or setting myself on fire.....again. And it's a great feeling to see my microwave all lit up and just begging to melt some butter for my popcorn.

The cool front came through before lunch, and after the winds died down early afternoon it got chilly enough that I had to wear a long sleeve shirt outside. I don't mind chilly weather too much, but it does mean I'll have to burn more propane in the morning to warm things up.

Because of the arrival of the new inverter I didn't get to take the Yamaha WR450 out on the trails like I had planned but I'm hoping I can do that tomorrow if it's not too cold outside.

Now that I've got my General Deliveries from the post office I'm free to leave Box Wash whenever I feel like it. I've been here going on three weeks and so far I have no reason to leave or stay, I'm just kind of in limbo at the moment. And since my rule of thumb during times of limbo is "don't go around looking for decisions to make" I will just stay put and see which way the wind blows.

My new 2000 watt inverter. I put my life savings up there as a size reference. I hope seeing the kind of money I carry around doesn't attract any nefarious characters.
