I got weighed

It was kind of chilly this morning, low 60s so I had to wear my insulated long sleeve flannel shirt since I was going to be outside for a while

Everything went smoothly this morning, I got weighed, drove to my new boondocking site, and got all set up by 10 o'clock. My original appointment to be weighed was at 9 o'clock but I saw the Weighmaster messing around over at the scales so I went over there at 8:30 and got an early start.

The good news is the Arctic Fox is under its net carry capacity by about 600 pounds. The not so good news, but still acceptable, is I'm a couple of hundred pounds over on my tongue weight. I knew that already because that's the way it was the first time I weighed the Arctic Fox.

Overall I'm very happy with my weights. I was a little concerned about what 150 pounds of motorcycle hanging on the very back of the Arctic Fox would do, especially since I got rid of a couple of hundred pounds at the front of the Arctic Fox when I replaced my lead acid batteries with the very light lithium iron batteries. But it didn't seem to make much difference the tongue weight is still acceptable.

So it seems that, unlike me, the Arctic Fox hasn't gained any weight to speak of so I'm happy to see that. One of the things that often happens to full timers is we tend to gather things as we roll along, and get heavier and heavier year after year. At least it looks like I have that somewhat under control but I would like to get rid of more things so my weights were dropping instead of just staying about the same.

The Arctic Fox was weighed in normal traveling condition which is, one propane tank full, the other partly full. Water tank full, and that tank ways about  600 pounds when it's full. And all holding tanks empty.

Now that all that's out of the way, and I'm in a new boondocking spot on BLM land just outside of Congress Arizona, I can relax and think about where I would like to be for Christmas.... I'm not sure if Santa Claus could find me out here in the sticks.

The weighmaster already had an assistant so it looks like I'm still a man without a title.

The Weighmaster said the scales are the same portable ones the State uses for weighing semi trucks.

this is why I like using Smartweigh instead of the Cat Scales at the truck stop. They do everything for me and give me a paper with locations and numbers that I can understand. They also do the necessary math which I have about as much chance of getting right as I would interpreting the Dead Sea Scrolls. And when it's over they tell you what your problems are, what you can do to fix it, or like for me this morning they told me to keep on trucking.
