this is why I like using Smartweigh instead of the Cat Scales at the truck stop. They do everything for me and give me a paper with locations and numbers that I can understand. They also do the necessary math which I have about as much chance of getting right as I would interpreting the Dead Sea Scrolls. And when it's over they tell you what your problems are, what you can do to fix it, or like for me this morning they told me to keep on trucking.

Seems to me that the weighing is really important. You did wise to repeat the weighing I think. What I did for mine is weigh all my stuff and add the weight of a full tank of water (40 gallons). It came out to about 1500 pounds under my allowable so I did not bother with a formal weighing. If I ever get near a Smart Weigh I will do one anyway. It is very good insurance.

One of the things that the Smartweigh does and truck stop Cat scales don't do is tell you if you have one side of the RV overloaded, or if one tire is overloaded, and the only way you can do that is to weigh each wheel individually.
