I gotta hunker down before it's too late!

Last nights sunset at the fairgrounds.

My allergies were acting up today despite taking my allergy medicine so I stayed home and didn't do much of anything.

I did go to the office and re-up so now I'll be leaving here Monday morning.  hopefully I'll be able to go down the road and watch the motocross race on Sunday.

I was looking at my calendar last night thinking about what my future might hold when it suddenly occurred to me that Easter is not that far away. last Easter I was at Elephant Butte State Park near Truth or Consequences New Mexico and the park started filling up the Thursday before Easter weekend and by Friday there wasn't a spot left even in the boondocking areas.

As much as I hate to hurry, and as much as I despise having a schedule, I'm also not very happy about not having a place to stay. And if I want to avoid that scenario I've got to find a place to hunker down for the holidays and I gotta do it pretty quick.

The most logical place for me to hunker down is in New Mexico, since I'm going to buy an annual state Park pass I need to spend some time there anyway. And since most New Mexico state parks have excellent boondocking I think my best chance of finding a place to stay for the holidays is to mosey on into New Mexico before too long.

Later this month they're having the Pima County fair and even though there's a large cell phone tower right here at the Fairground already, their installing what looks like a temporary cell phone tower to handle all of the crowds expected for the fair.
