I have nothing to say, but it took me a long time to say it.

It really bothers me when I have to sit at my computer and stare at a blank sheet of digital paper on the screen, and I can't think of a single thing to dictate digitally.

If I had a real sheet of paper and a real pencil, I think that would be called "writer's block," but since I don't consider myself a writer, I guess I can't get writer's block.

Like I've mentioned in past blog posts, I write about three things. Number one... Things I'm doing.  Number two... things I'm thinking.  And number three... things I'm thinking about doing.

Those three things normally give me something to write about every day, even when I'm not doing anything and I'm not planning on doing anything. I can always fall back on writing about what I'm thinking because, after all, we're always thinking something.... Well, apparently not.

I think I need a fourth thing to write about because at the height of the Summer Doldrums when there's absolutely nothing going on in my life.  Even my three things to write about rule is no longer working, I need to come up with a fourth thing to write about, or there will be days when I won't be able to post to my blog for lack of something to say. And since I enjoy writing my blog, I don't want to be put in that situation.

So I think I will add a fourth thing to write about and call it "writing something when there's absolutely nothing to write about." I figure this fourth subject will give me something to write about no matter how boring my current situation is, including the deepest depths of the dog days doldrums.

So there. I've solved the "nothing to write about problem," and it was a lot easier than I thought; all I had to do was add a fourth subject to write about, easy peasy, lemon squeezy.

But wait a minute! If I write about something when there's absolutely nothing to write about, that would automatically mean I'm "thinking" that there's absolutely nothing to write about, which would come under rule number two about my writing which says, "I write about things I'm thinking about" which would obviously make rule number four redundant.... Well, shoot!! I didn't actually have to write this because rule number two had this post covered all along, so this post can be ignored, and I can write a regular post.... But now I can't think of anything to write about.

My grandson coming down the stairs in his pajamas. I never had cool pajamas like this. I had to sleep in a potato sack full of holes, and then wear it to school the next morning while walking barefoot through the snow. These kids have it too easy with their cell phones and their shoes.

Hydrangea ....... I think.
