I sure could use a new view

Roses are red, violets are blue, the Obeah Man might be coming for you.... So click the pics it might be your only hope.

Last night after dark I ventured out into my daughter's flower garden, and at substantial risk to myself and others, armed only with a flashlight, my camera, and a Smith & Wesson .44 Magnum revolver, I took these hasty images and hot footed it back into the light and safety of the Arctic Fox before the Obeah Man could get me.

Yesterday afternoon when it cooled down a bit, I put the new rear-view camera on the little Bronco and hooked it up to the running lights electrical circuit just like the old camera. I could have gone ahead and put in the monitor because all I have to do is hook it up to the wires that are already there, but then I wouldn't have anything to do tomorrow.

I'm sure in need of a mini-vacation, but since all the schools haven't started yet, and the smoke from various forest fires is still hanging around, I'm not sure where I would go. There is usually beautiful mountain scenery everywhere I would normally go, but with the smoke obscuring my view, the distance at which one can see anything is somewhat limited.

Taking that into consideration I think I would like to go to an old town, with a bunch of old buildings in it that I could take pictures of; I do like taking pictures of old buildings. In fact, if I take the little Bronco on my winter travels this year, one of the things I'm looking forward to is being able to stop in a lot more interesting towns, especially old towns, and take pictures in places where it's normally hard for me to park the Arctic Fox fifth wheel.

Who? Or more accurately, what? Is the Obeah Man? Obeah men are mostly found in the islands of the Caribbean, and since there's so many Caribbean islanders living in Miami Florida, where I used to live, its not so odd to find Obeah men their as well. They are men of great real, or perceived power, and are called many things, witch doctors, voodoo priest, moko-jumbie, and many other names, but they all have the power to make and control zombies !

So why did I bring up the Obeah Man? Because I knew an Obeah Man when I lived in Miami, and he always picked his magic flowers and dug up his poisonous roots in the dead of night, so taking these nighttime pictures reminded me of a real Obeah man, Mr. Ed Link. The black folks in the South Miami area were absolutely scared to death of Mr Link and called him the root man believing that if he put a root on you, you were as good as dead. But he liked me so I was safe. 

Mr Link is long dead now but I never know if one of his zombies might get loose and come after me for some unknown reason, so I always try to be prepared.
