I know this looks like a boarded up antique motel, but its not, it's open and there's cars in the parking lot. And it's cheaper than a lot of campgrounds.
Another problem happened to my poor blog, but at least this time, it doesn't seem to be anything I did. For some strange reason yesterday, I stopped being able to respond to any comments. I can see the comments when they show up, but when I try to reply... Nothing happens. So you're welcome to drop by and say whatever you wish. I just won't be able to give one of my typical extremely long-winded responses to anyone until I can figure out what's going on.
I went to Walmart this morning, it's only a couple of miles down the road from the SKPs campground. It looked like about half the people in there were wearing face masks and the other half were so ugly they shoulda been. The only exciting thing at Walmart was the grocery bags they had as I was self bagging my groceries. They were very thick and sturdy, where normal ones are so thin and weak I'm lucky if I can get home with one that's not to torn up to use as a trash bag. The writing on the side says, "Walmart reusable bag." I wish they always used this kind of bag because they're the best trash bag I've ever had in the Arctic Fox.
My rear view camera monitor that sits on the truck's dashboard was wiggling around yesterday as I was driving. Mostly because I-10 is so beat up in some places, it feels like you're driving on a dirt road. This morning, I cut a piece of foam and put it under the monitor to keep it from bouncing around, I'll find out tomorrow when I get back on the road again if all is well.
I think I'm going to Socorro New Mexico tomorrow and overnight in their Walmart parking lot. I'm not 100% sure it's okay, so I'm working on a backup plan.
Obviously left over from the horse show the other day. I thought it was interesting that the horse has his own personal tail carrier. The grand entrance into the arena is very important so they need to keep the horses tail out of the dirt until their in the arena.
I guess when I was cleaning stalls at the boarding stables I worked at as a kid I never realized that if I had stayed there long enough one day I could've moved up to be a tail carrier. It may have been a career move that changed my life.
I've read that the King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Al Aziz and the Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman are huge horse fanatics and own hundreds of millions of dollars worth of horses. Imagine what they would pay to have someone carry their tails around. I could've been the famous and internationally known tail carrier to the crowned heads of Arabia..... As Marlon Brando once said, "I coulda been a contender. I coulda been somebody".
