I thought I was sick, but I was just lazy.

When I woke up this morning, I wasn't feeling all that great. I didn't feel sick; I just didn't feel as good as I usually do. In normal times I would've hopped in the truck and left on my trip as planned, but because of the Bat flu worries going around, I decided to go with the "better safe than sorry" philosophy and wait to see how things shake out.

Fortunately for me, by about lunchtime, I felt normal again, but by then, I figured it was too late for me to leave, so I would wait and go tomorrow morning. Since today was picked at random as the day to leave, there is no loss or complications in going tomorrow, the next day, or even next week. Since my timing is based on a bird migration, there is no specific time to be there; it's just guesswork at best.

I'm glad I was feeling bad when I first woke up this morning and not AFTER I loaded all my computer equipment and camera stuff in the truck, because then I would've had to take it all out again to be able to use it today.

Now my new intention.... I hesitate to use the word plan due to the poor luck I've had planning things, is to head out of here tomorrow morning with all of the enthusiasm I was supposed to have had this morning. And hopefully have some new pictures to show everyone tomorrow afternoon.

My grandson is ingeniously disguised as a tree making him all but impossible to be found while outdoors.

The neighbor's tree three days ago was one of the prettiest trees on the block and now it looks like the end of times. Fall comes quickly to Colorado.

I myself like these photos well enough; photos don't have to be of exotic places. A dahlia, and charming grand-boy. The suburban tree is just sort of a depressing subject, Eye of the beholder.
Glad to hear you are feeling better and it was a passing thing.
Which gives me another chance to use another word I never say - excelsior! Which I think means "onward and upward" but I could be wrong.

Thank you Judith. I like to have different things to take pictures of mostly for my own sanity. I know some folks like to specialize in their photographic subjects and take pictures of nothing but birds, flowers, or hairless cats, but I have to have a little more variety in subjects to keep myself interested. Fortunately my full-time RVing lifestyle usually gives me different subjects to take pictures of in less i'm in one place too long.

I would like to parry your use of the Latin word "Excelsior" but unfortunately I used up all of the impressive words that I'm familiar with answering your last comment and have nothing left but "Pig Latin"of which I am fluent, but refrain from using except in an emergency.

But I am in no way admitting defeat, I am simply laying low until you least expect it at which time I will come forth with a cornucopia and maybe even a plethora of high class words that will send you scurrying to the nearest dictionary.

Well - Plethora......cornucopia?.... your close to securing an X rating on your blog.
Anyway, as an ex high school and JC football official, I recognize your grandson signaling a "Safety" which gives you points for following your instincts, staying safe and spending precious time with them.

Yeah I know all those cuss words. Being in the military that's the first thing they teach you, such as not to call a G.I. a plethora in less you want to fight.

That makes a lot more sense. His dad is a serious Bronco fan so it looks like my grandsons picking up things from the game. Usually kids want to copy the players not the referee. I'll bet there's one referee's signal he knows really well... "Timeout"
