Aha. I would be very interested in seeing some of the sights around Silverton. And just as close at hand for you, the sights around Victor. I used to love the Phantom Canyon road going north from I think Canon City, a dirt road winding through and up into the mountains, opening suddenly into a splendid panorama. Of course you are probably well used to that sort of thing. I wonder if that road is still dirt and rarely traveled. I guess I could look it up. I remember Fairplay as well from those years...of which there have been more than 30 since. Wherever, happy travels and keep posting. Glad you have a softer place to sit.

Oh wow. Thank you! I'm glad you know the road. I tried google maps for street view, and nada. That's good! Maybe it's still less traveled. Surprises me if it is. We did camp along it (traveling in a van) but as I said, that was many years ago. And at the time, I thought Cripple Creek was too big! Still, might have eaten in one of your restaurants if they were pre-1990....OK. Thanks again...and enjoy where you are,

I had restaurants there from the mid-80s till about the mid-90s. I had a burger joint across the Street from the railroad station called the "Iron Horse". And a barbecue place right in the middle of town named the "Strike It Rich". We put a lot of people through those restaurants during the summer so you might've been there.
