Sunrise at the Rockhound.

I woke up to a cloudy morning and walked around the campground, taking pictures of the sunrise. It's one of my favorite times to walk around with a camera in my hand because there's no one else around, and everything is peaceful and quiet; and the only sound is my shoes crunching on the gravel.

There will be a few lights in the windows of some campers, but not as many as you might think when you consider how many old folks are camping and their propensity to wake up before dawn. But just like the band Green Day in their song "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" says... "I Walk Alone."

But it's not just older adults that are camping now; there is an amazing number of working-age people in the State Park, enough to make me wonder since most folks don't take vacations in the winter, what are all these young people doing here? I guess a few have jobs working on their computer, and maybe some take their vacations in the winter, but that still leaves many more young people with enough money not to have to work.

The government throws away so much of our tax money now days maybe they're paying Americans not to get a job, so 10 million illegals will have something to do when all their welfare benefits run out... If it ever does.

The heavy clouds hanging low in the sky are forecast to last all day and all night, so there may be a nice sunset to take pictures of. Or the clouds will be so thick that the sun can't get through, and they'll be no pictures worth taking. Meanwhile, I need more sun for  battery charging today especially since tomorrow It's supposed to be just as cloudy... This is just one of the many challenges that face boondockers, especially boondockers like me who have never had the desire to own a generator.

It doesn't happen very often, but sometimes the clouds are in just the right position to give me a beautiful sunrise over the hills..

The sunset last night was okay, but nothing to write home about.

Because my tiny home is so...tiny, I find it hard to believe that folks actually carry Christmas decorations around with them all the time. I guess these folks have a lot more Christmas spirit than I do since they've got up Christmas lights inside their class "A''.

Daybreak at the Rockhound. It's a mite chilly, but I'm dressed appropriately. But anytime you get up this early in the desert, it's going to be chilly.

Just another day in paradise living the dream.

Are camper vans taking over?  It's starting to look that way !  I think I see more camper vans and small travel trailers than just about anything else in the places I go. but I'm pretty sure commercial RV parks wouldn't be that way,  I think boondocking attracts more of the smaller RVs.
