I went for a ride on the Yamaha WR450 yesterday afternoon just a little before sundown. I didn't go very far because I didn't want to have to ride back in the dark even though I have lights, the trails around here are kind of gnarly and go off in different directions and I certainly didn't want to get lost in the dark, because when it gets dark in the desert it is a special kind of dark that's darker than dark.
I went to Safeway yesterday and bought a few things for my Thanksgiving dinner, so it looks like I'm having smoked salmon instead of some type of bird or something that crawls. I really like smoked salmon but it's so expensive I never buy it unless it's a special occasion. I also notice that not only has the price gotten higher but the portions have gotten considerably smaller.
I also bought some eggnog which is another thing I seldom buy mostly because anything that taste that good has got to be really, really bad for you.
The grocery store had a completely different feel yesterday than it normally does. Not only was it really crowded but it seemed like everybody was in a hurry, and a lot of people had very large lists they were caring around of things they wanted to buy. So if you put those three things together, a lot of people in a hurry reading grocery lists, meant there were a lot of people running into each other and didn't seem like they were in a very good mood. I think the holiday spirit over the years has been turning into something it was never meant to be.
