I wonder, What would people think of me if I was living in a truck camper? I also wonder if a juggler could qualify for a home loan.

Smoky and hazy are still hanging around.... And no, that's not my pet cats; that's the skies around Denver.
It's so smoky around here we can't even see the mountains from Denver, and normally they are very prominent. I know this lack of a view will end someday, but for now landscape pictures aren't working very well.

I'm looking forward to taking a mini-vacation in the little Bronco, but right now, I'm not sure when that will be. Here it is in early August, and the only place I've been in the little Bronco is the Hill climb race in Monarch. And I stayed so busy at the race taking pictures and videos of the racers that I didn't give any thought to making the little Bronco more travel-ready if I decide to live in it this winter.

So I think I need a regular mini-vacation that doesn't have any real purpose except to have a good time, and that will give me more opportunity to determine what needs to be done to the little Bronco to turn it into a lean, mean, full-timing machine.

Okay, okay! The little Bronco is pretty lean, and it might be mean, but a full timing machine? That's hard to imagine; it's just too small. But to be fair, in my travels, I have talked to people living in vehicles smaller than the little Bronco. I've run into numerous folks that are living in cars. And no, they're not homeless people like you would think would be living in cars; they seem pretty normal other than not having the money to buy an RV. One thing they do seem to have in common is their short enough to sleep sideways in a car.

A step up from that are the people living in their SUVs and the smallest vans. As before, their budget doesn't seem to be enough to purchase an RV, and overall these folks tend to be taller.

I don't recall any of these people telling me they wanted a larger RV; in fact, they tended to emphasize their excellent gas mileage, their ability to go anywhere a car will go, and the simplicity of life with only the possessions that you absolutely need.

So it would appear to me that living in a small RV like the little Bronco may be more of a mental adjustment than a physical one.

           A boring rant on the vicissitudes of life ahead.

For most of our lives, our success is based on "conspicuous consumption," which usually translates to everything we have being bigger, better, and more of it. And often as not, we want more not because we need it, but because we have to keep up appearances to impress others with our displays of success, and in the RV world, nothing says, look at me! Like a 40 foot motor-home.

But what if we no longer care how we look to others? What if our measure of success is based on how free we are? How few worries we have? Or how happy we are? How great would that be?

So the question is, can someone be happy in a tiny RV the size of the little Bronco? Can an RV that small give you more freedom to live your life the way you want? Will less "things" in your life make you happier? Who knows, but I am interested in finding out.

Driving through the tunnel to get to the Red Rocks Amphitheater parking lot a while back, I spotted a pair of jugglers, that's right, jugglers! It was strange enough seeing jugglers walking down the road, but I think I was more fascinated by the contraptions the couple was wearing that allowed them to carry half a dozen juggling thingies with them wherever they went.

This raised several questions that inquiring minds would like to know, such as..... Why were jugglers walking to Red Rocks? Do jugglers always carry their juggling thingies with them? If they juggle chainsaws and bowling balls, how do they carry them? When they apply for a home mortgage loan, do they put down juggler as their occupation? Do jugglers have health insurance that covers broken fingers and getting bonked on the head by bowling balls, and chainsaws?

Looking back on it, I should've pulled over and talked to them. I'll bet they had some interesting stories to tell that I could've written about in my blog instead of the boring stuff I'm having to write about now.
