My left eye is a candidate for for cataract surgery according to one doctor, should need surgery in a few years according to another and the last one said she only recommends surgery when glasses no longer can do the job and I still respond well to glasses. So obviously when for cataract surgery may have more to do with opinions or pocket book fatness of the doctor than medical facts.

Thank you Barney, that's very informative. I don't have any of the symptoms of a cataract that I've read about on the Internet. I understand an eye doctor knows more than the Internet does but sometimes I wonder if there's any pressure on optometrists to recommend cataract surgery even if the actual need may be some time in the future.

The prices for a new 27-5L is over $70K and as high as $95K with lots of options. If you can find someone that can afford fuel to tow it you should be able to get a good price. If not maybe they can afford the Bronco. I sold mine two weeks ago. I have had good luck using RVT as many Arctic Fox buyers will travel a long distance for used ones.

Yeah Glenn, it is a good time to sell, but that automatically makes it a bad time to buy. As I search the Internet for truck campers, I also look at the value of the bronco and the Arctic Fox and I will do okay when I sell whatever I end up selling. 5/13/2022 07:36:19 pm
Get your cataracts done and you'll think someone has turned on the lights. You don't realize how dim the eyes get over sixty or seventy so years.

Wow John, I've never heard of adjustable lenses for cataracts, but does sound interesting.

I had the surgery on both eyes at the same time about 6 years ago. I had cataracts in both eyes, but my vision was still correctable for years.

Thank you so much KennyD. It really helps to hear other peoples stories that have had cataract operations in the past, or even considering it for themselves. It helps knowing I'm not the only one dealing with this problem, and peoples outcomes have bettered their lives. And especially thanks for the 20/20, 20/30 information I had never heard that before.

My optometrist gave me a new eye glass prescription but told me not to fill it if I was going to have cataract surgery soon as the surgery would greatly change my vision. So far, I have done neither. I did not trust the eye surgeon I saw so am on hold. My new RX will only correct to 20/40 so the time is coming but for now I just have occasional blurry vision in the evenings which I think may be more eye strain than anything else since I spend pretty much all day staring at one screen or another.

Thank you Linda. I think that's where I'm at right now, maybe I need it done, but I'm not sure when. Maybe I can put it off for a while, but I'm not sure how long. but I know I need new specs.

Yes, I absolutely miss the travel. My one saving grace is that out four huge living room windows overlook a nature preserve so I don't have to miss wildlife views altogether.

Having a great view helps a lot when traveling is limited. but having good memories of your travels may be even more important when traveling days are done, and the truck keys are thrown in a junk drawer instead of placed on a table near the door. Your comment will be posted after it is approved.
