I've been taking a break during the holidays and haven't had anything to write about because I've mostly been sitting around in the heat and not doing much of anything. But now I've got to get ready for a short trip so there will be some activity in my life for a change.
Around Monday or Tuesday I'm going to pull the Arctic Fox three miles down the road to Chatfield state Park and stay there overnight so I can dump my tanks. When I leave there the next morning I'll be heading up into the mountains to my property near 11 mile reservoir or maybe 11 Mile Reservoir State Park, I usually stay at the State Park first so I can check out the road to my property which can change from tolerable, too terrible, to sometimes impassable, without endangering the Arctic Fox.
I plan on staying there a couple of weeks then coming back to my daughter's house for a few days and then heading north for Montana. Those are my plans at this particular time, but my plans have been known to be very squishy and sometimes don't last through the night.
I've got a lot of cleaning and straightening up to do before I leave. I have found that when I stay someplace for a long time my stuff tends to spread out all over the trailer instead of keeping stuff put away where it belongs like I do when I'm traveling every once in a while.
Some of the things I need to do to get ready to travel are outside things, like loading up the motorcycle, checking the air pressure in all of the tires, and cleaning out the truck. And the fact that it's going to be in the 90s every day until I leave does not motivate me to get out and get things done. But the fact that it's going to be cooler in the mountains should give me the kick in the butt that I need to get going.
