Roses are orange, violets are blue, I'm glad I didn't have to rhyme orange, cause I don't have a clue.... Orange you glad you clicked all the pics ?

There's not many roses left in the garden, and the ones that are still around are showing signs of wear, and evidence of being nibbled on by various critters.

I received my rear-view camera set up for the little Bronco late yesterday afternoon, but I've been babysitting the grandkids and haven't had a chance to install it yet.

It looks a lot better than the one that quit working and considering the non-functioning one was several years old. Digital technology changes so rapidly; this one has an HD camera and an HD monitor, so it should be a lot better than what I had, and it was a lot cheaper.

I could see blobs of various sizes behind me with my old backup camera, but I couldn't tell what they were. But that's not really important for a rear-view camera as long as I know where the blobs are. But with this new set up I'm supposed to be able to identify the blobs, which will at least give me something interesting to look at while I drive.

My granddaughter watching cartoons on an old cell phone. She's four years old and already knows how to do things on a cell phone.

When I was four years old all I knew how to do was eat, sleep, and wet my pants. And I was halfway through junior high school before I learned much of anything else.

My grandson also has an old cell phone he can watch cartoons on.

I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but one things for sure, were never going back to a dial-up phone that's attached to a wall. So something like a cell phone except more high tech, is what these kids are going to grow up with, and be using their whole lives.

Will these kids even realize that Poppa was middle-aged before he even saw a phone that you could take with you?

Absorption. Well, it can be a good thing to pay attention and sustain it. Maybe it depends a bit on the content...of what is being attended.
As for rear-view cameras, I had always thought, yeah great, but I had cataract surgery yesterday and when I saw the camera today, I was overwhelmed. But I've been over whelmed a lot today. So many wonderful colors. So many outlines of things. I put it off too long, but it WAS my only good eye. So yesterday with it patched was not a happy time. All worth it though.

Oh. Like everyone wants to know that. Well, they might.

Well congratulations! And I never doubted your successful outcome for one second. And since I've read that 30% of us senior citizens have cataracts, and nobody knows which one of us that will be, I'm pretty sure everyone IS interested in your procedure, and how it turned out.

That must've been frightening with your eye patched, and not knowing how it was going to turn out, but that's over, and you can see clearly once again.

I'm wondering did you get the kind of lens that adjusts the focus like a biological lens does, or did the surgeon set the focus for the lens? Inquiring minds want to know.

Nope. Doesn't adjust the focus. Though I confess I got confused about all the options...I ended up with a "toric" lens. I don't care. I can see. I kept telling her all I wanted to do was to be able to read and that I didn't care if I have to wear glasses. So far, on day 3, I do need some "readers" that I got at the drug store for reading a book.....but otherwise, nada. (For the first time since I was 30.) And the world and its colors are so beautiful, I knew they were....in my head. But didn't experience it. You know you're pretty far gone when you find the contents of your utensil drawer in the kitchen completely gorgeous.

I wasn't sure what kind of lense I wanted for my cataract operation either. I don't mind if I have to wear some kind of glasses, I've been wearing them since I was 13 years old and I don't think anyone would recognize me if I took them off.

Seeing clearly is a wonderful gift, and cataracts take that gift away so slowly you don't even realize you're losing it. You just compensate, and learn to deal. Were so lucky there's opportunities available now days that our parents couldn't have dreamed of.

Now that you can actually SEE my pictures, I hope my fragile psyche can deal with your constructive criticism.

I was thinking the other day about how we mock a phone call by sticking out our thumb and small finer and placing them alongside our head. Will these kids simply slap a palm against their cheek?

I guess that will depend on how they look when they're making a phone call in the future. Phone companies have made big cell phones, so we know how that looks. And long time ago I remember seeing a high-tech cell phone that was the size of my thumb, but that was too small to do all the things that people want to do on a phone now days.

I don't think there will be a big demand for brain implants for phones, since that seems a wee bit invasive, and I shudder to think what would happen if you didn't pay your phone bill.

So I'm thinking cell phones will evolve into sunglasses or prescription glasses, and they will be as much computer as they are cell phone, which is pretty much the case now. There will be no more keyboards, we will dictate to a microphone on the sunglasses just like I do when I'm writing my blog.

Windows 37 will be having problems just like always, but there will be no laptop to throw out the window. Since digital gadgetry gets better and better and cheaper and cheaper, and at the same time more and more technical and difficult to use. I predict these new cell phone sunglasses will cost $37, and my grandkids will have these when they're in high school. By then, Elon Musk will have all of his satellites in orbit so Internet will be available in every corner of the earth.

So knowing all that and recalling all the problems I've had with Windows and cell phones, I predict that when people in that day and age want to mimic a phone call they will do so by taking off their sunglasses, throwing them on the ground, and stomping up and down on them.
