I'm back to working on camper projects again

These weird alien creatures start life looking like a strawberry, then they turn into man eating, tentacle infested monsters, and finally an innocent looking shaving brush.... Don't click this pic, it only makes them mad.

Since the weather in Denver is a little cooler, it's put me in the mood to spend more time doing things to the Lance truck camper to make it more comfortable as a full-time RV.

The stove in the Lance has always had a light with match burners, which I find extremely annoying. Lighting the burners with a match is okay for weekend camping but becomes a lot more vexing, having to do it several times a day, every single day.

So after ordering a battery-operated stove lighter some time ago, I finally got around to installing it today. It involved drilling a hole through the stove-top, but I've long ago stopped worrying about drilling holes in things and figure that any project worth doing is going to require drilling holes in places you'd rather not have holes.

My next project will be putting some fans in the refrigerator roof vent to make the refrigerator cool better. There are no fans in it now, and normally, the more air you can get moving through the vent, the cooler the fridge will get.

The newer RV refrigerators work a lot better than the old ones, even if they are a little off level or don't have much air moving through the vents, but the Lances fridge is 11 or 12 years old, and these old refrigerators were a lot more persnickety about the conditions under which they will operate efficiently. So spending some time to get the fridge as level as possible when I'm boondocking, and keeping some air flowing through the cooling coils on the back of the refrigerator, helps an old refrigerator work as well as it can be expected to.

All the brown trees you see, including half a mountain full in the background, have been killed by the Pine Beetle, also known as the Bark Beetle. If you look at my mountain pictures from the Park you will often see patches of dead Brown trees.
