I'm not where I thought I would be, but at least I'm somewhere

I had a flat tire on the Arctic Fox today and that's definitely not a good way to start your day. I had just got to Corpus Christi, so fortunately I was not in the middle of nowhere, and my tire pressure sensor started beeping letting me know I was losing air in one tire. So I pulled into a gas station and asked them if they knew of anyplace nearby that repaired tires and fortunately there was one only about 2 miles away.

I put some air in the tire and drove to the tire shop where they changed the tire for me putting on the spare and had me on my way in less than half an hour for $20. I was going to have them repair the flat tire but looking at it and comparing it to the spare tire, which had never been used, I could see that I need a new set of tires. These tires are about four years old and I was hoping I could get about six years out of them but it doesn't look like that's going to be the case. The Arctic Fox is kind of plump which is tough on tires so maybe we both need to go on a diet.

I went straight to the Padre Island national seashore after the tire incident, with plans on staying at the Malaquite campground, but found that it was pretty crowded and kind of small and the only spots I could find to back into weren't long enough for me to get the Arctic Fox completely off the road without backing the motorcycle rack into a sand Dune. So that along with zero Verizon service and a looong drive back into town. I drove a few miles back the way I came and checked into the Nueces County Park Campground, thank you Barney.

The Nueces County Park Campground cost money, $25 a day but at least it's close to shopping, has electric and water hookups, right next to the beach, 4G Verizon, and has a humongous 1200 foot long fishing pier about 200 feet from where I'm sitting. And since the weather report calls for sunny tomorrow and then cloudy and rainy for the next 10 days I wasn't going to be able stay at PINS very long anyway.
