I'm pushing my luck

I'm supposed to leave today, but I'm going to push my luck and see if I can stay for one more day. This morning was another morning of bright sunshine and hardly any clouds to produce the kind of sunrises and sunsets I have in mind. But this afternoon, the weather guessers are predicting clouds that may or may not give me what I'm looking for, so I would like to try and hang around to see if it does.

I'm not particularly eager to drive at night if I can help it because my night vision isn't all that great. And if the clouds do shape up into a nice sunset, I would have to be here till after dark and then find someplace else to stay, so if nobody runs me off, I'll sleep here one more night and leave in the morning.

When I leave here, I'll be moseying over to Tombstone, Arizona, to check on my property and soak up a little Western gunfighter ambiance. I like being in a town where most locals are armed, like they are in Tombstone. I don't fear armed people... I feel safer. And that could be because I've been armed for a lot of my life, and a lot of the people around me are armed, so I guess I'm used to it.

It was really cold when I walked around some of the lakes this morning at sunrise; for the first time, I noticed some of the shallow water areas were frozen. If I were still living in a house in Colorado, I would have enough warm clothing to deal with cold weather. But I got rid of most of my cold weather stuff when I moved into the Arctic Fox. And due to the limited storage space in the Lance, I got rid of even more of my cold-weather clothing; after all, I'm supposed to be staying in warm places. So it seems rather ironic that I've been facing the coldest winter I've had to deal with since I became a fulltimer while having the least amount of warm clothing since I lived in Miami, Florida.

If I saw an Army surplus store in my travels, I would buy a G.I. field jacket and liner. In fact; the only warm thing I owned in Miami was a leather jacket and my issue field jacket and liner.

Icy water; I told you it was cold this morning.

I love to watch ducks landing on the water, they hit the water going so fast that they water-ski on their webbed feet for a ways before they settle in and start swimming. Sandhill cranes are the exact opposite, they come to a complete stop a couple feet above the ground and then slowly descend straight down to the ground.

Quackless Ducks out for a swim. After many eons these quackless ducks have learned how to quack, so now they sound just like a regular duck. Which means only a duck expert like myself can identify them as actual quackless ducks.

Arizona Sonoran bluebird; will I'll be, I guess the one I spotted at the Pima County Fairgrounds a couple of weeks ago WASN'T the only one in Arizona.

These Shoveler Ducks have to be the ugliest duck ever invented.
