Today was another warm but windy day at 11 mile reservoir. so I went to Woodland Park today to say goodbye to some folks and take care of some business.
I loaded up the Yamaha WR450 this morning onto it's rack on the back of the Arctic Fox and for the 1st time had a real struggle getting it up the ramp, because of the way the trailer is sitting the rack was higher than normal, And because of a boulder in the way I couldn't get my normal running start so I had to just muscle it up the ramp without the benefit of any inertia and I just barely got it up there. Fortunately desperation replaced inertia about halfway up the ramp, and I managed to get it up on the rack where it belongs.
I'll get most things ready to leave tomorrow but I probably won't hook up the truck until the morning. If I hook up the truck now the trailer will be sitting in the truck nose high to the point where it's not good for the refrigerator. Normally it's not like that when the trailer is hooked up to the truck but the Arctic Fox is sitting on some very uneven ground at the moment.
I'm looking forward to being on the road again tomorrow. I'll probably only go as far as Trinidad Colorado which is close to the Colorado, New Mexico border and about 200 miles from where I'm at now. There's a Walmart in Trinidad right on I 25 that welcomes RVers, and I've stayed there many many nights coming or going from Colorado. Once I get into New Mexico I'll be into warm areas again, so I'll take my time going through New Mexico so I don't run into any places that are too hot.
The red Fox is still around, and apparently she's got her sights set on bringing down a mule deer, that's not likely to happen but you gotta admire her spunk.
