Last night I was asked a question by Thomas and I didn't have time to give it my usual long-winded answer so I decided to make it a blog post for today.
I'm Paraphrasing the question which was, if theboondork is so lazy why am I able to write a blog post almost every day? I like that question it made me have to think about the answer because I wasn't sure why I'm able to do that especially since I really don't like to write.
I think there's several reasons why I'm able to do that and the first one is, I actually enjoy it, and when you enjoy doing something it doesn't seem like work it seems like fun so it doesn't interfere with my laziness.
If I had to type these blogs it would be a miserable experience, but since I'm lazy and try to make everything as easy as possible for myself I dictate them and the computer writes everything for me so I don't have to spend endless hours hunting and pecking at the keyboard and looking up every word to make sure it's spelled correctly. So I can make a blog post, format it correctly, put a few pictures with it, and send it on its way in less than an hour. If it took me hours to do this I would probably be writing two or three times a week instead of almost every day, because like I said I really don't like to write.
Since I boondock a lot and you're not supposed to have a bunch of neighbors around while your boondocking, I think my blog gives me a feeling that I'm not alone, that I'm part of a community, and my blog is my connection with that community, and of course with my family members that keep up with my blog. So I guess I feel more connected if I'm able to write something almost every day.
As anyone that reads my blog can probably tell there's almost no planning that goes into my posts, I write about whatever I'm thinking at the moment with no thought or strategy most of the time. In other words, there's no method to my madness, which is why there is seldom any continuity in my blog. The pictures probably don't match the story and the story often doesn't match from paragraph to paragraph. That's how my laziness works I have to keep things simple or it becomes work and I won't want to do it.
Since my main hobby nowadays is photography, I have found that photography is more fun if I can share my pictures. After all what good is a picture if no one's looking at it. So by writing a blog almost every day it gives me a way to share my snapshots and gives me a reason to take pictures every day to have something to put in my blog. And since taking pictures is fun for me it doesn't interfere with my laziness.
So I guess I could say that writing a blog post almost every day and being lazy at the same time is perfectly compatible, because I enjoy writing my blog and doing something I enjoy is not affected by my laziness.
That was a pretty long answer for what may have been a tongue-in-cheek question, but even if it was a joke question I got a free blog post out of it. So either way thanks for the question Thomas.
