Is Wickenburg Arizona in my future ?

I was blessed with a truly beautiful sunset last night.

As I was sitting in the camper late yesterday afternoon I noticed that the camper was red inside, so l looked out the window and there was this incredible rare red and pink sunset that covered the whole sky.

I didn't have time to get up on a hill to get a nice picture of the whole sunset because by the time I grabbed my camera and got outside, it was gone in a few minutes. I did get a couple of pictures, but because of my location the pictures don't show  how the sunset lit up not only the sky but the ground.

It was pretty chilly today; it barely made the 50s. Sunday is still predicted to be the worst day, with daytime temperatures in the high 40s, nighttime in the low 20s, and a pretty good chance of snow. And that's pretty chilly by anybody's standards.

Due to that chilly weather forecast, I think I will hang around here till next Tuesday because Monday is going to be in the low 40s for a high and teens at  night and I don't want to be out running around in weather like that.

But I need to get out of this area of Arizona because Tombstone and Tucson are high in altitude, so the weather is always cooler around here. I need to get further west into the desert areas to avoid having to deal with as much chilly weather. As soon as I see Saguaros growing around me, I'll know I'm in the right place.

Where I would like to be at the moment is Wickenburg, Arizona. There's a lot of boondocking there that's close to town. Even though they don't have a Walmart anywhere in the area, they do have a couple of supermarkets like Safeway, and an Arizona supermarket called Bashas'; to shop at. And there Is lots of Arizona Trust land just outside of town to boondock on, and a lot of cowboys practicing their team roping at several arenas around town.

I'm not sure what it is because I can't put my finger on it, but some places have a vibe that makes me feel good, and Wickenburg is one of those places. Maybe because the Chamber of Commerce advertises the town as a cowboy town. And even though I've never been a cowboy, nor do I want to ride a horse all day, or even for five minutes if I can help it, I met a lot of cowboy families when my youngest son was in high school riding bulls in the rodeo, and when I visited my oldest son when he was working At a huge ranch in Montana. We would camp out for the weekend at various rodeo arenas scattered around Colorado while in the Arctic Fox, where we would sit around a campfire at night doing a lot of talking about life in general, and I found myself agreeing with almost everything the rodeo folks and ranching families believed in...except I couldn't understand why in the world they wanted a herd of horses to take care of, and they couldn't understand how I managed to live this long without a horse to love in the backyard.

So I don't know what day or even month I'll be there, but you can be sure I'll be heading toward Wickenburg one of these days and boondocking on some Arizona Trust Land about 3 miles from the nearest Safeway. And I'll be happy to be in Wickenburg and happy to be around the ranching and rodeo folks that live there.

This picture of the old historic Tombstone courthouse was taken from the opposite direction of the sunset where my truck is, as you can see it covered the whole sky, and turned everything red for maybe five minutes, and then it was gone...Good things in life don't last forever, but the memories will.
