I did something yesterday that I've never done in Quartzsite before. I took my trash to the town dump.

Now I knew Quartzsite had a dump because there's a sign on highway 95 telling you where to turn to get to it, and it's so close to the highway you can see it if you know what to look for. But I always assumed it was for locals, and you would have to pay to dump there, which is what I had to do when I lived in Colorado. So all these years I've been coming to Quartzsite I've been taking my trash to gas stations when I get fuel, or a grocery store where I go to shop, using the dump never even crossed my mind.

But yesterday while I was in town I was supposed to put my two Walmart grocery bags of trash in a McDonald's trash can after I ate lunch but I forgot, no surprise there, and didn't remember till I was almost back home too Hi Jolly. Just as I was coming up on the road that goes to the dump I noticed an RV on the road coming from the dump and decided this would be a good time to check it out and see what the deal is with taking trash there.

Well knock me down and call me Susan. The dump not only takes anybody's trash but it's totally free. I couldn't believe it. After all these years of surreptitiously schlepping trash into every available trash can in Q, they actually have a free trash dump close to town......Some people are really slow learners, and then there's me.
