it's almost time for the annual tarantula migration

Little Miss Muffet sat on her tuffet clicking her pics array, along came a spider, sat down besider, and said; The Tarantulas are migrating today.

The water is extra deep at Chatfield reservoir this summer.

It was a bit cloudy and rainy today, so the temperature never reached the low 70s, and it sure felt good for a change.

Yes, boys and girls, there is indeed a Tarantula spider migration in Colorado that goes on for a couple of weeks in September. And I'm assuming there will be spider aficionados from all over the world attending this renowned and long anticipated event, and with any luck I might be right there with them since the event takes place around the middle of September which may fit in well with my mini-vacation going on at that time.

There will be plenty of spiders to interact with,  play with, and maybe even one or two that you can take home to your significant other. After all they make great anniversary presents....Picture live Tarantula ear rings for that special lady in your life. Or a cuddly, fuzzy, huggable, Tarantula to sit on your shoulder as a conversation starter.  Problem with the neighbors?
just put your big, hairy, eight legged, friend on their bed and watch how fast a moving van appears in their front yard.

But don't wait too long, hotel rooms are selling out fast, and Tarantula themed birthday cakes need to be ordered way ahead of time....how many Tarantulas does it take to bake a birthday cake?  10... One to bake the cake, and the other nine to scare away all the people that want to lick the bowl ....LOL... so get a map, or get an Uber, but get there, or be square.

Folks setting up a shelter for a day of paddle boarding. Some aficionados of the sport like  the hard foam boards, and others like the inflatable boards for ease of travel, and storage. My daughter has an inflatable board.

Solo paddle boarder emerging from the dark, dismal, alligator infested, swamp..... She was lucky to see daylight again.

Sometimes the empty boards, and broken paddles, come slowly drifting out of the swamp by themselves, the only remaining evidence of the silent but deadly battles that occurred deep within this watery grave between man and something indescribably horrible.
