Today will be my last day boondocking at my daughter's house for a while because I'm heading for Chatfield reservoir state Park tomorrow. That will put me only three miles away which is a good thing because I still have some loose ends to tie up around here.
During the summer getting a site at Chatfield reservoir is difficult during the week and just about impossible during the weekend. But this late in October most normal folks have gone home and they start closing down parts of the camping area as they're not needed anymore, so hopefully I won't have a problem getting a spot tomorrow.
It seems like no matter how many things I tried to do to get ready to go there are still more things to be done. One of the things I need to do today is go to a local bank and close out a couple of my accounts. All of my account activity now is with Wells Fargo so I no longer need these accounts at the local bank. I should've closed them long ago. But I've been doing business with them for so long that they were a part of my life. But since I'm on the road now the local bank is not useful to me anymore.
Getting back into traveling mode has been hard work this time for various reasons, but since I love traveling so much, preparation has been more like fun than work.
the excitement of getting back on the road never gets old to me. The thought of new horizons, new little towns, and new sunsets are always calling me, and even though it hurts me to leave friends and family behind temporarily, I always look forward to new sights, new experiences, and new places to view a sunset as I ease on down the road.
