This is my 2nd day Boondocking in Quartzsite, and I think I'll head down to Yuma tomorrow --- or the next day. Things are really picking up here parking spaces are getting more difficult to find, there's a lot more traffic on the roads, and the line at the post office was so long I turned around and left, and it's only going to get more crowded. I went to one of the vendor areas today and did some shopping, but I didn't buy anything. There's a lot of vendor areas, I've never even been to all of them, most of them are still in the process of setting up shop and getting ready for the "Big Show". |
Today was beautiful about 60,° not a cloud in the sky, and the solar panels charged up my batteries before lunch. I like to see that because the earlier they charge up the trailer batteries the more time it gives me to charge up other batteries that are low. The way it works is once the trailer batteries are fully charged the solar controller throttles the amps from the solar panels down to 2 or 3 amps for a trickle charge, but the solar panels are still producing 20 or 30 amps which is going to waste. So that's when I charge up my phone batteries, camera batteries, computer batteries, and any other batteries that are low, I like to think of those as free amps because they're just going to waste if I don't use them. |
