Infrared photos scare me. That's what my nightmares have looked like. It's night-time, but a person can see everything and it's all backwards. I do admit they are sort of interesting. But mostly scary.

I think you mentioned that before when I posted some infrared pictures from the Fairgrounds in Tucson where I was camping.

I am more of a fan of well done B&W than infrared myself.

I don't consider black and white and infrared photography as competing with each other, to me there for completely different purposes. I believe black and white photography kind of forces you to concentrate on a subject of interest, and the composition, without the distraction of pretty colors.

Oh I agree totally that a photographer needs to have all three styles at his disposal to take good photos. They each have their superior place in the fun. I appreciate you shooting the infrared when the time is right for it. I want to mention that I feel you do a better job than most folks, especially me, with the infrared. Have fun no matter what!

10 years ago when I was having to put an infrared filter over my lens to take an infrared picture, the filter was so dark I couldn't see what I was taking a picture of and the exposure had to be 10 or 15 seconds long to make an image bright enough to see.
