The road from nowhere....Since I'm leaving in the morning, I decided to put all my left over pictures from Dateland in this post. If I don't do that they tend to get thrown away
I did laundry this morning and vacuumed in the afternoon. I can't believe how productive I've been, I'm going to have to relax for days now just to get over this.
Ever since I've been here I've been making little jokes about Dateland, and I hope everybody understood they were all in jest. It's just so easy to make fun of Dateland because of its size, location, and the frequency at which the freight train goes through. But the truth is I've been here twice now and have found it a friendly and inexpensive stopover on the way to somewhere else.
The prices are reasonable, where else are you going to find a full hookup site for $150 a month. And everyone I've met in the RV Park and the folks working in the gift shop have been as helpful and nice as could be.
They tell me the place has a new owner and he's going to fix up the RV Park so it doesn't look so run down, I hope that doesn't translate into higher prices, but I wouldn't bet against it.
I'm pretty sure now that on Wednesday morning I'll be heading to Casa Grande Arizona and see if they have room for me to boondock at the escapees RV Park there.
I got to thinking last night about a place not too far from there called Boyce Thompson Arboretum State Park which is in Superior Arizona. I went there several years ago and it's really a beautiful place with plants from all over the world and a tremendous amount of picture taking opportunities.
And speaking of plants, we had some more rain this afternoon, not a whole lot but it wet the ground. I can just feel all of those seeds under my feet just waiting to explode in a carpet of colors.
Just down the road from the State Park there's also a boondocking area I've heard about but never been to. So I figure I can drive my truck from the SKP Park to Superior and be able to visit the State Park and check out the boondocking area in one trip.
