WOW you have nailed the mental trouble I was fighting this year. But a simple fall that nearly cost me my right eye has me set back onto a new worry, Will I recover enough to even consider rolling someplace this year?

Only you and your physician can answer the question about your eye and when or if you should travel. But I would guess that if you're eye was the only thing damaged in the fall, it's healing up, and you can see well enough to drive, and you're comfortable being on the road, it seems like it would be okay.

Yes....these days, it's apparent to me. I've been very very lucky with my health so far, and have decided I've gotten the best genes in the world so far in regard to preserving me in spite of my bad habits. Friends the same age who have zero bad habits are having trouble. It's a dice throw. As for ruts...oh yeah. But there's been a big change in my life recently, so when that's settled out, I can see what the next chapter is, and if it will surprise me. Some ruts will definitely not be going on....what will the new ones be...I'll see.

I feel very lucky also Judith, a lot of people I know have a whole medicine cabinet full prescription pills they take, but other than some over-the-counter allergy medicine, I take nothing but vitamins.

I always took the same route south because it was what got me away from the coming winter the fastest. Once south, I could wander at will. If I'd been willing to leave sooner I could have wandered more along the way but it's hard to leave family before the weather says, "GO. NOW!"

That's actually the reason I always take I-25 South, it gets me out of the cold and the chance of snow quicker than any other way.
