No bullets come out of this mounted shooters gun. It's the burning bits of black powder that you see in the picture that breaks the balloons.

I'm almost always leaning against the arena fence taking pictures and I've had the gun fired directly at me without feeling anything.

The mounted shooters are still just practicing that's why they're out of costume, but this weekend they will get serious.

Another beautiful day today, and It looks like smooth sailing for the next ten days. 70s in the daytime, 50s at night, low humidity, and only a very small chances of rain occasionally.

This morning, I went to the closest grocery store, an Albertson's, about three miles away. Sometimes, I like to go to a different grocery store to see if they have different foods I can afford. And since there's a Walmart another two miles away, other grocery stores try to be competitive, unlike in Wickenburg, where there is no Walmart to go to to keep the different grocery stores honest.

I'm looking forward to watching the last part of the "End of Trail" shooting competition this weekend and the mounted shooters riding around doing their thing. And there's an archery contest on Sunday that I would enjoy seeing.

After all that's over, I'm unsure what to do or where to go. I'm boondocking at a humongous trust land area where there are hundreds of RVs scattered around in the desert; in fact, there are so many it looks a lot like Quartzsite.

I aim to stick around southern Arizona to see the flower situation. If there's a Super-bloom, I want to be where that's going on, but I need to figure out where that will be, so I have to stay agile so I can get to wherever things are happening.

I would also like to attend the Arizona Outdoor Expo at Ben Avery's on the 23rd and 24th of this month, so I may need to stick around close to the northern Phoenix area.

And I'm still hoping to get one more annual park pass from New Mexico before that good deal goes away forever. Without the inexpensive boondocking that I used to have in New Mexico, the entire state is off my list of places to go, and Elephant Butte State Park was one of my favorite places to be in New Mexico....I'm going to miss it.

So, in one winter, I've lost two places where I spent a lot of my time: the entire state of New Mexico and the Pima County Fairgrounds. So, it's been a rather disappointing winter.

When I had restaurants in Cripple Creek Colorado I dressed similar to this most of the time. Except I wore a derby hat, no bandanna around my neck. I wore a cravat, and my vest was a brocade vest which looked very nice like something a gambler would wear, and sleeve garters much fancier than these, and a substantial chain on my pocket watch.

I'm so old I remember when females wore dresses, and pushed baby carriages.

Another girl that forgot to draw her gun? I know there's plenty of very good reasons for wearing a helmet, especially when riding a galloping horse, but they just don't look right to me.
