Infrared picture of the Llano River Junction Texas
It was a really nice day until after lunch and then it got very windy, but it's only supposed to get up to 80° today so I won't have to worry about the Arctic Fox getting too hot.
Just about dark last night three cats walked up the river bank to where I'm boondocked. They looked and acted like stray cats, and I'm a sucker for stray animals. They wouldn't let me get anywhere near them but I set out a bowl of milk and they cautiously came and drank it. The largest one was still hanging around this morning but still wouldn't get anywhere near me.
I had to go into town to the library this morning to get some Internet so I could post on my blog, after which I went to lunch at the La Familia Mexican restaurant, which was very good and reasonably priced. And then I stopped at the grocery store and bought a small box of cat food which I will leave for the cats when I pull out of here tomorrow morning. I told you I was a sucker for stray animals.
I am so glad that the cats are too scared to come near me because if they came up to me I know I would take one of them with me, and the last thing I need right now is an animal in my life to take care of, worry about, and spend money on. So even though I feel sorry for them they are in a pretty good place, their living in a city park so they're protected, the weather's fairly mild here, they live next to a river so they've got plenty of water, the river bank is covered in riprap so there's plenty of places to hide and find shelter, and there's probably mice and other small critters living in the riprap so there should be plenty to eat, so I don't feel guilty at all for driving off and leaving them here..... Okay maybe I feel a little guilty... Alright I feel terrible, but they will probably be fine and I'll forget about the whole thing in a couple of days, I hope.
