last of the clouds

Folks may be wondering how come with all the cloudy weather I've been having there's not more sunrise and sunset pictures, and the above picture is the reason. The clouds have been so thick all the time the sun can't shine through them so the sunrises and sunsets are mostly like this... pretty dismal.

Hopefully, this will be the last day of cloudy,  rainy weather for a while; at least, that's what the weather guessers say.

I'm still okay so far, partly because even though the clouds are thick, the combined solar panels will still put out four or five amps even when you think they couldn't be putting out anything. And since my long-term boondocking lifestyle doesn't allow for large amp users, I don't have anything in the camper that I need that uses a lot of electricity, except my 17-inch Asus laptop, which is an amp guzzler.

The only other big user of DC electricity is the factory furnace, and it's only a problem when it's cold, but if I stay in warm places, it's more of an annoyance than a problem. But it would be pretty helpful to stop using the factory furnace because it not only uses a lot of electricity, it also uses a lot of propane for the amount of heat it produces. What I should do is rig up my Little Buddy Heater, which is a radiant heater that uses no electricity, produces more heat from the propane it uses, and make it my main heat source.

I stopped using the factory furnace in the Arctic Fox many years ago and instead used a radiant heater and counted it as one of the best things I ever did for boondocking... I need to look deeper into a project like that.

Theboondork

Since taking pictures of the Air Force, and Marine jets flying over head to the bombing ranges is one of the things I enjoy doing while boondocking at the old rodeo arena, some folks might wonder how come I'm not posting any pictures of the aforementioned airplanes? And the reason is basically the same problem as the sunsets and sunrises. the planes are all flying above the heavy low hanging clouds, so I can hear them, but I can't see them. Except for this one A-10 Warthog that was flying below the clouds.

Excuse me Mr. bull, if you could just move your massive, rock hard hoof over just a smidgen, I promise I'll hang up my helmet, and take-up stamp collecting for the rest of my life.

This young man looks like he's actually relaxed and enjoying himself, especially since he's not crying and screaming for help like I would be doing.
