My last morning in Lake  Havasu. At long last a few clouds in the sky. What makes me even happier is cloudy weather is predicted for the next week, and even a chance of rain.

I hadn’t expected to get out of bed at 6 o’clock this morning because I was in no hurry to get to Laughlin, Nevada, but I guess I was anxious for a nu view, so I accidentally woke up early. That put me on the road by 7:00 and pulling into the Pioneer Casino parking lot by breakfast.

I expected some traffic on the road leaving during what usually would be rush-hour, but it wasn’t a problem at all. I guess there’s not much of a rush-hour anymore, maybe nobodys working.

The Pioneer casino is still looking pretty shabby. And the Colorado Belle next door is closed, and the parking lot is blocked off. I don’t know when the Belle closed, but the last time I was here, it looked like it had fallen on some hard times, and I guess the Bat flu finished it off. It makes sense that if they had to close for the Bat flu and they were hanging by a thread anyway, you might as well just shut the whole thing down for good.

The owners of the Belle, which last I heard, is Golden Entertainment, have at least two other joints in town, the Edgewater and the Aquarius, so they probably have big plans for the Belle property. They also own the Stratosphere in Las Vegas, which is now called the Strat. I used to know the guy that built the Stratosphere casino, his name is Bob Stupak. I’ve had some business dealings with him back when Cripple Creek first legalized gambling, and the Stratosphere was just being built. But he folded and the Stratosphere was taken over by Carl Icahn, famous businessman and corporate raider.

I’m probably not going to stay in the Pioneer parking lot too long, they have some new rules, and they don’t want you to unhook your trailer for too long, so I’ll probably move down the street to the Riverside casino before the weekend.

Fishermen gotta fish.... Even if it's in a tourist area.

Loud music, bright colors, and the smell of incense, poured from this tourist shop and assaulted what few of my senses that actually work.

I can't figure out if this gadget horrifies me..... or I want one.

I looked it up on the Internet and it's called the iBot, and this thing climbs stairs. So I could use it to replace my easy chair. I could get to the refrigerator, and  get in and out of the Arctic Fox without putting forth any effort whatsoever.... On the other hand this chair really does horrify me. Ever who came up with the saying "what could possibly go wrong?" Probably had the iBot in mind.

But if it does do what it promises, and does it safely, it would be a godsend for people with ordinary wheelchairs.
