A main dislike of most of the NM boondocking areas I have been too is they tend to be too many miles from any services. For instance there is one good area west of South Montecello Park campground that was almost an hour from I-25 on a rough gravel road. After getting to I-25 you still had 20 minutes to supplies.

Yeah I didn't like that one either. I much prefer boondocking down the road at Elephant Butte, Walmart and other shopping are easy to get to and its all on paved roads.

Yep....change has hit our RV lifestyle. It is amazing what folks are willing to pay for an RV. Class B's are running $150000 new. Good luck finding a reasonably priced used one. Campgrounds including the Govt. sites are increasing fees and requiring reservations. Some boondocking area's are being closed or regulated. I can't help but think a good percentage of the "new" rv folks will not hang in there with the fuel prices and the overcrowding they have created. We can only hope so.

Yeah, Larry, it is expensive to buy an RV, but it's a good time to sell one if you can't afford to put gas in one anymore. And speaking of putting gas in one, I think the price of fuel will only affect peoples RV purchases if they believe these prices will continue for a long period of time. But I believe if they think prices will come down to something semi-normal by next fall, people will buy anyway.
