Loading up the little bronco

Even though the little Bronco is very short, Clicking the pics makes the little Bronco feel 10 feet tall.

Seeing the little Bronco sitting there makes me want to put on my traveling shoes, and head for the high country where the Elk, Bear and Mountain lion roam.

I put the little Bronco camper on my truck yesterday afternoon, and just seeing it sitting there brings back memories of the good times I've had running around the Colorado high country in the little Bronco.

I don't know how those one-week mini-vacations will translate to living in something that small full time, but it's interesting enough that I might soon find out.

I did some running around in it today to settle it in and tighten up the chains that hold it in the truck's bed, and everything went okay so far. Even though I've been getting around 15, 17 miles to the gallon, with the little bronco aboard, depending on the terrain. I still decided to leave my 18-gallon spare fuel tank in the back of the truck. I haven't really needed it in the past, but it just makes me feel better knowing that there's some extra fuel back there.

The fuel tank prevents me from sliding the little Bronco all the way forward to the front of the truck bed, and it hangs over the tailgate 6 or 8 inches, which moves the campers center of gravity back 6 or 8 inches. But I've left the spare tank on in the past, and it didn't seem to hurt anything.

Just seeing the camper sitting in the driveway puts me in a traveling mood and makes me want to head for the high lonesome as soon as I can get all my appointments finished around here.

Since the little Bronco can't move all the way forward, it overhangs the tailgate 6 or 8 inches. This looks a little funny, and it moves the center of gravity back a few inches. But the peace of mind that extra fuel  gives me is worth it.
