Looking forward to the Arizona outdoor Expo

Sunset the other night.

Tomorrow the "Arizona Outdoor Expo" begins. I will try to get there as early as possible because it gets crowded later in the day. I asked the shooting range office folks if there would be shuttle buses stopping here to pick people up, and they assured me there would be. It wouldn't be that far to walk over to the Expo, less than a mile, but once you're there, it's nothing but walking until you decide to leave. And then walking back to the campground after walking around the Expo for hours didn't sound like fun.

Back in the day, when I went to the Expo, I would leave from the Clay Center, and they had big beautiful 40 foot tour buses that were almost as fancy as a class "A" motorhome inside, and an air conditioner that made you hate to leave the bus when it got to the Expo. And those tour buses would drop you off right in the middle of the Expo. I don't know what the rifle range will use for a shuttle bus, but as cheap as the rifle range is, they will probably have a van with wooden benches to sit on.

I could drive over there, they have several humongous parking areas for the Expo, and one parking area is so big that my boondocking spot is only a couple hundred feet from that parking lot, which is actually a thousand-meter rifle range that they close to use for parking during the Expo, which means that when that parking area starts filling up those folks would have to walk almost as far as I would to get to the Expo.

But whatever happens, I'm looking forward to it. It will bring back many memories, have some interesting things to see, and with any luck, I might even get a picture or two for the blog.
