Click the pics, they get bigger not better...but sometimes they don't even get bigger, just like life, it's a crap-shoot.

Dramatic clouds in that first photo. Nice!

Thank you, Judith. I've been really lucky on this trip to Quartzsite because of all the cloudy weather. This being a desert, I've seen this place go for weeks without a cloud in the sky, but because of El Niño, there's been a lot of cloudy weather, which gives me more to take pictures of. But since I live on sunshine, there's a price to be paid.

Made it to Palm Desert to visit relatives. Found a nice CG at Lake Cahuilla Recreation Area.....boondocking is $25 a night and full hook up to $45. OUCH!!!

Sorry to hear about your refrigerator problems, if I had the money I would buy a 12 V refer, that seems to be the future, especially with so many people having solar and lithium iron batteries which makes using 12 V power make a lot more sense. But until you get it fixed I reckon you'll just have to get used to warm beer.

I'll give JC Refer some slack on this one. We will see how it turns out. Customer service response has been excellent to this point, I think facilities see an opportunity to make easy money. The increase in RV's and especially boondocking units have caused them to take notice. All folks talk about in forums is upgrading their solar so they can boondock. Paved parking lot, no facilities to maintain equals easy cash. Oh well....."suck it up butter cup"

I think you're right Larry. I remember a couple of years ago writing about seeing a lot more RVs designed at the factory for boondocking, or at least the appearance of boondocking. I saw many travel trailers with knobby tires and an XTREME name boondocking a 100 feet from a paved highway. So maybe some campgrounds with a spare parking lot are attempting to turn that into a low-maintenance boondocking area, which I totally agree with, but charging slightly less than full hook up prices is a slap in the face.

I'm always surprised at camping prices nowadays. Then I realize, I started full time RVing 16 years ago. Nothing is the same price now as it was then.

Of course, you're right, Linda, nothing stays the same... Especially prices. But it seems like this is something else. Places to camp have become way more expensive, and other than not going to those places, not much can be done. Your comment will be posted after it is approved.
