It was cloudy today but it never rained so all things considered it was a great day.
It's been pretty cloudy today but it's warm and the winds are fairly calm so all in all it's been a nice day.
It looks like all of the holiday folks have cleared out and today has been more like a normal day which to me means fairly peaceful and quiet.
I went to Walmart this morning, not so much that I needed groceries I just needed to get out of the house for a while. Since I was there I bought one of their roasted chickens, which I can get two meals out of, and I needed a break from my own cooking, such as it is. My own cooking usually consists of me opening up a can of something and heating it up in a pot. I realize that's not the healthiest way to eat but it's cheaper than eating out, ready to eat in a couple of minutes, easy to clean up, and usually tastes better than anything I can make.
I just realized I've only got about three more weeks of my winter travels. As usual the time has flown by so quickly it's hard to believe I left Denver about 6 months ago. I think I mentioned before that this winter for me is going to be remembered for the cold, the rain, and the crowds. I can't remember much of anything about my daily comings and goings during the winter because it all seems to have passed in a big blur. But what sticks in my mind is how cold it would be in the morning when I woke up, how many times my daily plans got rained out, and how sometimes it was difficult to find a place to boondock, or I had to boondock closer to people than I prefer. Oh well, that's all behind me now and I've always been someone that looks more to the future than the past, and right now the future looks pretty bright.
Just a few stragglers left on the beach yesterday afternoon.
