Having nothing better to do at the time, I took a lot of snapshots of the mounted shooters. So until something interesting comes up in my life, snapshots of horses is about all you're going to get.

I think I figured out what I'm going to do for Christmas; I believe I will spend it in Tucson at the Pima County Fairgrounds.

The Pima County Fairgrounds has been a favorite place for quite some time now, but it has some winter problems. Tucson is fairly close to 2500 feet high, so it gets rather chilly in the winter, and some snow is not that uncommon. But despite that, I do like the area, and I especially enjoy events at the fairgrounds in January. Even though I don't think they have anything going on during Christmas, I've spent Christmas there before and liked it, so maybe I should go again.

I'm in no hurry to get there; I think my time is up at Ben Avery's on Friday, so I'll probably spend a night or two at Picacho State Park, which is on the way to Tucson; I've always had a good time there. And maybe I'll spend a few days in Tombstone checking out my property and seeing what's going on in town.

Normally this time of year, I would be heading as far south as I could get, which would put me near the Arizona Mexican border where the humidity is single digits, so the chilly weather is not much of a problem, but getting near the border now days might just be asking for trouble.

I had been looking forward to spending some time in Yuma, Arizona, despite the drug cartel problems down there, but every time I see anything about Yuma on the Internet, it seems to get worse and worse. And now the city mayor has declared a state of emergency because there are so many people crossing the border, the border patrol is not even checking anyone anymore. So the illegals and the cartels are just walking through the farm fields and the desert, and the town doesn't have the ability to deal with anyone anymore. So I've given up hope of making it down to where the weather is warmer this winter.

Riding a horse and shooting at things, the dream of all us baby boomers that were raised on cowboy movies.

I don't think the girls cared about the cowboy movie aspect of riding and shooting, I think they just like horses, and being in this sport gave them another reason to ride a horse.

The Lone Ranger rode a white horse named Silver just like this one.... Hi-yo Silver away! He exclaimed as he rode off into the sunset. I wanted to ride off with him, but I didn't have a horse, an Indian sidekick, a gun, or even a silver bullet. All those things were pretty hard to find when you're 11 years old living in Greenville South Carolina.

Here's someone that picture snappers like me, love to take pictures of. When I pointed the camera at her she lit up like a professional model, and I knew I had a good picture before ever seeing it.

I could do this hobby, if it didn't involve me having to ride a horse. But I could run around the arena and shoot just as many balloons as anyone else.

Here's a guy that looks as cool as I assumed I once looked..... But there's a lot of skepticism about my assumption.

One of the kids whose job it was to replace the busted balloons with new ones. I could've done that job myself but it required a lot of running, and running is not what I'm best at... But I'm an expert at relaxing.
