More progress

One of the Antelope up at my property. I was feeling like an antique today so I made all of today's pictures match my mood.

Just as I expected, when I started working on the bronco, getting it ready for this winter's travels, my one-track mind quickly became totally focused on that one mission to the detriment of everything else going on in my life.

So now the only thing that interests me is getting the bronco ready to travel, which I consider fun and interesting at the moment. It's tough having a one-track mind, I don't know how I got this way, but it seems like it's the way I've always been. And for me, multitasking is out of the question.

I got some of my storage work done in the bronco; at least I now have a place to keep my clothes, few though they may be. And I repaired the large folding handrail at the broncos door. You may recall that on my recent, very brief mini-vacation to Deckers, I drove on 10 miles of badly washboard dirt road that caused several problems in the bronco, including my handrail halfway falling off.

I don't think that will be a problem anymore because instead of screwing it to the fiberglass like normal, I drilled holes all the way through the wall and put quarter-inch bolts and Nylock nuts holding the handrail on now, so it's not going anywhere now no matter how bad the road.

I felt so good about getting something accomplished that I started taking the back seat out of my truck. Of course, I had to take everything out of the back seat before I could even get to the nuts and bolts to remove it, but unbolt it I did. So now it's just sitting in the back of the truck waiting for someone to come along and help me carry it into the Arctic Fox, where I suppose it will stay until I come back in the spring.

The next thing will be to build some shelves so the truck's back seat area where it will become storage instead of just a catchall for stuff piled in the middle of the floor.
