I gave my little Bronco truck camper refrigerator a 24-hour test yesterday by adjusting the refrigerator temperature to its coldest setting and putting two wireless digital thermometers in the fridge, one in the freezer and one in the reefer. It got up to 95° yesterday, and for part of the day, the sun was hitting the refrigerator side of the little Bronco.

 I checked it first thing in the morning at about 8 o'clock when it was still cool outside, and the reefer read 31°, and the freezer was -6° !!! I didn't even think the freezer could get that cold; color me amazed.

31° is, of course, way too cold for the reefer, so I turned the thermostat on the refrigerator down from the highest number 5 to a number 4 to see if I can get the reefer somewhere near the high 30s. Later today, the sun will start hitting the refrigerator side of the little Bronco again, and it will be interesting to see if the little Bronco refrigerator can get in the high 30s and stay somewhere near that.

I'm not expecting miracles because even the Arctic Fox's refrigerator will vary 10° or so on a hot day. The lowest temperature I've ever seen the Arctic Fox's Norcold freezer get is 5°. So if the little Bronco's freezer can get down to -6°, that's pretty impressive for an absorption refrigerator, so maybe the reefer can hold the high 30s in 90° weather, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it.

At 2 o'clock this afternoon the freezer in the little Bronco was still about zero, but the reefer was mid-40s and climbing. The sun was hitting the refrigerator side of the little Bronco, and it was 95° outside. The doors and windows in the little Bronco are closed and the inside temperature was 103°
